Ok I need some help. Spring is almost over and I will be off to college and graduating from our club. I have had my ups and down within the organization and am happy to be off to new coxing adventures in college. My Coach is trying to get me do the summer program at my club. I was a bit hesitant, but he has made it more worth my while. I would have the A boat with some returning college freshmen, and some great hs guys. I may have an opportunity to cox masters guys (not from the club) that I am good friends with, or since the college I will be going will prob. give me the Jv or V boat - take the summer off. So my choices are A. Cox for club (another season of possible frustration) B. Masters (new and fast experience) C. Take summer off and prepare mindset for college (may not be a bad idea...prev. burnout) So what 'yall think?!! ~ juicecox110

Im from Rochester NY, going to RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) nothing special but the coach loves me and thinks I am the most amazing coxswain in the world. I don't but what the hey!

I'm in the same "boat" you're in. I've been with my team for 5 years and am graduating this year. I opted not to cox for my usual boat, half of them aren't doing summer anyway, and do an alumni boat. It started out great. They're fast, real fast, but they're pissy, real pissy. They aren't very responsive to my critiquing and they're a-holes when we don't have a perfect race or practice. I should have taken the season off and now I don't have a choice. I can't bail out on them. My suggestion, take the summer off. You can always join up with the team if you decide you're bored and miss crew. It's easier to come back mid season than it is to leave.
