i couldn't go to henley because of my work and how under staffed we are right now cause we are remodeling so i stopped coxing a week and a half early and i didn't really miss it... i have been doin' rowing non stop for 3 years and i usually miss it from the end of the summer season to the beginning of fall and i already said that i wasn't gonna do the fall because of an other sport but now i'm thinkin' about whether this sport is really for me...did i fall out of the mix..i'm a good coxie and i've been complemented and begged to coxie boats but ... when do you draw the line and how do u know when you've had enough. ~ DevilCoxie

Having said that i do enjoy the odd lie in, bieng able to go round the country visiting people and not missing practices, see if a club who trains a little less adn isn't so serious is avalible. Back to your question it's never time to quit... if you think it might be try this other sport and see if you come back.

You're not going to be truly positive you want to give up rowing until you're actually in the boat seeing if you still feel it - I know that from experience. And you want to really hate it to quit - otherwise you'll regret it for a long time.

You get tired of the bitchy crews, the annoiying coaches adn the politics. After awhile, the practices are boring, the crew is not fun and everything is done by rote. Ususually you should quit when nothing is spontaneous and fun, i know i certainly feel that way. Take a year or a few seasons off, freshen up your perspective with other stuff. Don't talk to any crew members, then see how you think...should be an eye opener!
