Okay so i've done rowin' now for my third year. i hve coxied spring summer and fall for three years now and i still love it. i guess u could say that out of a team of 45 i can't stand being around 4 of them and they are really ruining my crew experience this year. i have done nothing except to continue to be best friends with my best friend and get a job. yeah i missed some preseason practices but it was so that i could get the season off. the girl that hates me lives, breathes and dreams rowing. her brother is one of the coaches her family owns a boat and rowin is in their family. she is like the definition of a rowin' nazi...i don't know what to do - i wanna do crew but i don't think that this season is gonna be fun... what should i do?? i need your help?? ~ DevilCoxie

Ignore it.
She probably is jealous of your life. I had a problem like that with one of the guys on my crew. He did schools, I was novice, and a better cox than he was rower by the end of it. He was jealous so he tried to make my life hell. The other crew guys were helpful too, but they didn't really understand it. So I confronted him, it subsided and I ignore it completely now. Just don't take into the boat, or you'll lose everyones respect.

I agree with the previous comment above and I think these rowers are not happy with their position in the boat. They try to find a scapegoat and the coxswain is the best thing. My advice is to concentrate on what they are trying to say. They maybe want to help, but they're saying it in a mean and malicious way. If they're just saying rude things to you, then ignore them. Who cares? Why do want to be friends with someone who doesn't think highly of you. Plus, if you love it, then don't let four people ruin it for you!
