Well, after a long absence I am back. I know, just what everyone wanted to hear. But in the last year, so much as happened. A lot of it really sucked and some of it was awesome. Quick rundown: Spring Season: Got cut from the heavyweight boat because I weighed too much, went back to coxing lightweights. Had a good season with the lights, qualified for the Youth Invite (Nationals) in the light men's four (the first year the event has been raced.) When we qualified at Regionals our whole team (about 130 people) were on the shore cheering. It was amazing. In my five years on that team, I have never seen the team come out like that before. Our team had both light and heavy girls 8's qualify as did our heavy men's 8. The training for Nationals and Nationals itself was awesome. Our boat (and thus the rest of the team) made friends with the light mens four from St. Andrew's in Atlanta. It was an amazing trip and our boat did the best out of all of our team's crews, placing 4th in the grand final. It was hard to leave the team. So many good memories. Also graduated high school. Summer Season: Less than a week after graduation I totalled my car on my way to my boyfriend's graduation. The next week my boyfriend left for a month to tour Europe, and I was left carless, rideless, having to walk to work, lonely, and still having to decide where to go to college. I hadn't heard by from my first choice and instead of going to University of Hawai'i I chose to stay in Seattle and wait to hear back.
