Sorry. I won't normally post 2 articles so close together but I just had to tell everyone!!! Yesterday (1 September) my little ol' rowing club hosted the very first "boathouse Eight's."

Basically the CAMBRIDGE (UK) university team came over and raced the Waikato university team in memory of Harry Mahon, an excellent coach to both teams. It was expected to be a close race, Cambridge had the height and strength advantage but Waikato had the local knowledge!! On a 5 km upstream course with many people lining the banks all the way along the mighty Waikato team kicked some serious Cambridge butt!!

Yay for us!! and next year. . . . . Oxfords coming

Yeah but we won the boat race this year ;) sorry couldn't resist sticking for my uni! I cox for mens first eights at one of the oxford colleges.
